Mastering Hybrid Working in Financial Services

A view of emerging tech trends and ways of working to attract and retain top talent.

A “Great Resignation” emerged in the latter phase of the global pandemic in the UK finance industry. The Office for National Statistics found that vacancies in the sector doubled in the year to February 2022.

This period rewrote the rulebook on employee expectations. Employees re-evaluated work, with many deciding they prized flexible working as much as pay. As a result, many in the industry left work altogether, or moved to a new employer in pursuit of more flexibility.

For employers, this seismic shift in why, how, and when employees work has made it business-critical to rethink the traditional 9-5 office culture. Unless employers acknowledge the changing requirements of the workforce, they may find that talent is harder to recruit and retain than customers. To keep pace with this shift, employers in the industry are actively reconsidering what their working environments should look like, and how this interplays with talent attraction and attrition.

But while the global pandemic proved that businesses can function while everyone works from home, it didn’t demonstrate how to deliver people-centric solutions for long-term success with hybrid working. This leaves employers in an experimental period of test and learning.

Mastering Hybrid Working in Financial ServicesDownload the report to explore how the industry is adapting in response to their “Great Resignation”.
