Deep Tech Momentum Defence
20-21 May 2026 | Berlin
In partnership with
Deep Tech Momentum

Do you have an innovation / R&D / operations / procurement / investment mandate with a major organisation in Defence? If so, come and join us at DTM.Defence in Berlin 20-21 May. The event will convene 3000 people working with deep tech and AI from NATO / allied armed forces, primes, scaleups and unicorns, and Europe's Tier 1 tech investors.

A flagship programme of DTM.Defence is the confidential Signals from the Frontline workshop on 20 May with the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), Lakestar, and McKinsey. The workshop aims to turn NATO frontline needs into early capability signals in a confidential setting — enabling faster cooperation between NATO armed forces, primes, and Europe's top dual-use innovators, before requirements harden, in the following areas:

- Innovation Ready DefTech Procurement (including agile acquisition models, rapid testing and fielding, streamlined certification, and closer collaboration with startups and dual-use innovators to accelerate the deployment of cutting-edge defence capabilities)
- Drone & Aerial Defence (including cost-effective counter-UAS capabilities combining detection, tracking, and defeat of mass, low-cost aerial threats)
- Cost-Effective Deep Precision Strike (including affordable long-range precision effects integrated with resilient ISR and targeting chains)
- Space-Enabled Situational Awareness (including space-based and terrestrial data for ISR, PNT resilience, and early warning across multi-domain operations.)

Non-confidential results will then be presented on stage on 21 May.

The event is backed by senior defence leaders including:
- Sir Ben Wallace - former UK Secretary of State for Defence
- Lt Gen Sir Tom Copinger-Symes — former Deputy Commander UK Cyber & Specialist Operations Command
- Gen Chris Badia — former Deputy SACT, NATO
- Lt Gen Frank Leidenberger — former CEO, BWI
- David Chinn — Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company
