Quality training is a key element for ‘readiness’.  The limited time Reservists get to train means that it is important that the training is accessible and efficient. It is also critical that the skills and experience gained (both in military and civilian roles) are recognised and utilised by Defence. This webinar will focus on three areas within the Training LOO that TGTL is currently working on to ensure that Army Reservists are included in the development process, and well informed to maximise the benefits they provide for Defence, units, and individuals.

    1. Defence Skills Passport. This short update will provide details on how the new Defence Skills Passport is intended to act as a central digital record of an individual’s skills to enable smoother identification and transfer between the Armed Forces and the Defence Industry. Harnessing Defence and single Service initiatives already in development and drawing on sector best practice, the Skills Passport should enable greater career opportunity and skills growth to attract and retain talent.

    2. Driver Licence Acquisition. In the new financial year, the regionally based DELTAs will go online streamlining how individuals and units gain Cat C driving licences and enabling rapid familiarisation with multiple vehicle types. This briefing will bring you up to speed on this significant whole force initiative.

    3. BAMS. An opportunity to discuss best practice and how to ensure your unit gets the right priority and allocation on the training areas that you are booking through the DIO administered BAMS system, UK and abroad.

This is the first in a series of webinars that will be delivered over the coming months on a range of issues and topics that the TGTL team is working on to help improve the lived experience of Army Reservists and highlight the benefits of Reserve service.
